OUR STORY
The Art and Science of Altitude
Strata Studio was founded in 2025 in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, with creative roots stretching back to Cambria and Paso Robles, California. Our founder, Ben Potter, built the studio on an approach centered on understanding how light, landscape, and timing combine to reveal a property's true character.
What began as a specialized approach to viticulture photography has evolved into an elite production house with offices spanning the West Coast. Today, we serve wineries, luxury estates, golf resorts, and marine properties from Puget Sound to the Central Coast.
Our name reflects our approach: “Strata” speaks to the layers of perspective we bring—the geological layers that shape each landscape, the atmospheric layers we navigate, and the cinematic layers that elevate our work above standard drone footage.
Our Journey
The Willamette Founding
Established primary headquarters in Salem, Oregon, uniting a specialized team to serve the Pacific Northwest's premier wine and estate markets.
Multi-Office Expansion
Launched the Seattle Hub and Paso Robles Hub, providing on-the-ground expertise for the Puget Sound marine sector and California viticulture corridor.
The Principal Shift
Expanded leadership to include specialized Principal Directors in Architectural Photography, Sound Design, and Business Development.
West Coast Authority
Now delivering cinema-grade aerial and ground production across 12 distinct regions in Washington, Oregon, California, and Idaho.
